At least for me, the best part of Spring in San Diego is the flower fields in Carlsbad.

There is a very short window of time to visit, and some years are better than others, but this year has been particularly good due to El Niño.  I went last week, but I'm sure at this very moment these fields of ranunculus are bursting with even more color!

I did an impromptu photoshoot with my friend's daughter.  Who could resist?  Along with the millions of ranunculus, there are some other varieties of flowers in different areas throughout.

This little one would find her way out of the allowed area and take off running through the fields.   I was in no hurry to stop her because it made for great photos, but eventually, her Mom stepped in.  Thankfully we didn't get kicked out.

If you're in San Diego and haven't yet been, I hope you get the chance to go!

This post is for my 10 on 10 group of women photographers.   Please follow around the circle to see the beautiful work of others starting with the über talented Bonnie.

Happy Spring, everyone!

Kathleen - What a sweet girl! Such a great photo opportunity with her in that dress and flowers for miles. So wonderful Kim, I'm sure these will be a family treasure.
Kim Bajorek - Thank you, Bonnie! Yes, it is open to the public. Hopefully you'll come back next Spring and we'll go! Have a great weekend!
Bonnie Jakobsen-Martin - These are absolutely breath-taking. What a wonderful place. Is it open to the public to go as people wish? I love the photos of the girl in profile with all the bokeh! And that last image with just the flowers is simply amazing. I am so glad I got a chance to see you for a little bit a couple of weeks ago.
Kim Bajorek - Hi Luca! Thank you for your comment. I really was about to quit 10 on 10 due to feeling that no one was taking part in it anymore. Seriously...you gave me a reason to stay! And thank you! If you're able to go to the fields during the week, I would still so love to go again. that time was super rushed!

xoxoxo
Luca - Gorgeous images Kim! I'm glad you made it and with a beautiful and very talented model ;-) Your pictures are the face of the spring: fresh, young, playful, full of color and life! My favorite is the one she is wearing a hat <3
